Scene from the movie 'Collateral':
After watching this clip a number of times, we each chose to analyse different parts to it. This included: Looking at the setting changes, looking at the different characters in each shot and analyzing their movements. Not only did we have to comment and look at what was in the actual frame (for example: props), we also had to analyse the different number of shots and edits that were used and seen.
We all took a storyboard each and discussed which parts of the clip we wanted to analyse. After agreeing on this, we all took turns analyzing the following:
Duration time of each shot, the camera directions, mise-en scene and the effects/sound that were used.
Storyboards:
Once we finished our story boards we all came together and discussed what we noticed in each shot that we individually analyzed.
These story boards were later used to help us once we began filming our own version of the clip from 'Collateral'.
